Az EU be akarja tiltani az ólom használatát, amely nehéz helyzetbe hozná az örökségvédelemmel foglalkozó múzeumok/szakemberek munkáját.
A nyomdai múzeumok szövetsége petíciót fogalmazott meg, amelyet kizárólag egyének írhatnak alá. Az aláírást egy előzetes regisztráció előz meg. Az alább hivatkozott linken minden megtalálható. Tóth Gábor és Matusek-Faludi Viktória magánemberként már aláírta a beadványt, eddig mindösszesen cca. 800 ember élt ezzel. A petíció szövege az alábbi csatolmányban található.

Petition in the European Parliament to continue to continue to allow lead type 06/12/2023 Intergraf was made aware of a petition at the European Parliament, initiated by the German MEP Ivo Rauch on the inclusion of metallic lead to the list of substances subject to authorization ( REACH) and the impact on Europe’s cultural heritage. Making lead subject to authorisation for REACH would mean that all printing museums and print shops which still use letter press would need to start the procedure to ask for REACH authorization. This this is far too costly and it concerns not only the historic printing technique, but also stained-glass windows, pipe organs, some musical instruments and further nice application.
